Can You Pull an SEO Report From Yoast?
Mostly no. Not the kind of report you are picturing.
Yoast analyzes one page at a time. It does that inside the editor, while you have the page open. Whatever overview screens or export options ship in a given version move about between releases. So check the plugin rather than this page.
What Yoast checks. How the traffic lights work. Setting a focus keyphrase properly. All of that is covered elsewhere on this site. So is what belongs in a monthly SEO report. None of it gets repeated here.
The question underneath is the better one. Somebody wants a document. So ask what a document like that has to contain. Setting a focus keyphrase is one of the few things Yoast actually gets right inside that editor. Before chasing a report, it helps to be clear on the meaning of Yoast SEO in the first place.
A Report Compares You Against Something Outside You
Open any SEO report worth reading. Traffic this month against last month. Rankings now against then. Your page against whoever sits above it.
Every line is a comparison. And the second half of each comparison sits outside your website.
Somebody had to search. Then somebody had to arrive. A competitor had to publish something. That is what makes a report evidence rather than an opinion. It holds facts nobody at your company decided.
Now hold that up against the plugin.
Yoast Only Ever Reads the Page in Front of It
Everything the analysis knows, it got from the document open in the editor. Your words. Whatever headings you wrote. Your title. The links you put in.
Nothing in that calculation went out and fetched anything. It never opened a results page. No competitor’s content came into it. Not one visit got counted.
None of that is a shortcoming somebody forgot to fix. Rather it is what a writing assistant is. The panel updates while you type. That works because everything it weighs is already in front of you.
So the analysis has one source. Meanwhile a report needs two.
You Typed the Keyphrase In Yourself
Then there is the field at the top of the panel.
You put the focus keyphrase there. Nobody checked it. Nothing in the plugin asked where that phrase came from. Whether anybody searches it went unexamined. So did whether it was the right phrase for this page at all.
From that moment on, every judgment runs against your own answer. Does the title carry it. Is it in the opening paragraph. Does a subheading somewhere hold it.
Each of those is a fair question. Every one gets measured against a target you supplied.
So the Yoast Analysis Reports on Your Own Consistency
Which is genuinely useful. Only it is not what anybody means by a report.
It answers one thing well. Did this page turn out the way you said you meant it to.
Nothing in it can answer whether you meant the right thing. A report on your own consistency is no evidence about the world.
Somebody Will Point at the Posts List
Fair enough. The plugin does put its scores in a column beside your posts. So you can read down the lot in one go.
Only look at what got listed. Every entry is the same per-page judgment, stacked up.
Nothing about stacking them added a second source. A hundred green lights are a hundred pages agreeing with a hundred keyphrases you chose yourself.
Somebody Will Say Yoast Premium Adds More
It does. The paid versions have carried more than one reporting flavour over the years. Connected data has turned up in there too, including figures about the keyphrase itself.
All of it is worth a look. Only notice where the extra has to come from. Anything telling you about rankings, or about what people search, gets fetched from outside your website.
The moment it does, you are reading a different source wearing the same login. Which is rather the point of this page. For the straight answer on Yoast SEO premium, weigh the extra data against what it actually costs each month.
Every Light Can Be Green on a Page Nobody Wants
Here is what the gap costs.
A page can go green on every check while the keyphrase underneath it is one nobody types. The title carries the phrase. So does the opening line. The length is fine. Links are in. Somebody wrote the description.
All of it correct. Every bit of it measured against a word you picked on a Tuesday.
Nothing on that screen was ever going to raise the question.
What the Yoast Panel Is Genuinely Good At
None of this is a reason to switch it off. Quite the opposite.
It catches the thing you meant to do and forgot. A title missing the phrase. An empty meta description. No link out to anything else you have written.
Those are ordinary omissions. They happen on a busy Thursday, to people who know better. A panel sitting beside the writing catches them while the page is still open. Nothing else in your stack is positioned to do that.
Use it for that. Then stop asking it for the other thing.
Where the Yoast Report Argument Stops
Nothing here says the scores are wrong. They measure what they say they measure. And they do it consistently.
Nor is any of it a claim about how Google weighs any of it. Nobody outside the company can settle that.
And the report you wanted does exist. Two free Google accounts hold most of it. One records what people searched before they reached you. The other records what happened once they did. That is a different page from this one.
Set the Keyphrase Aside and Read Your Own Page
Open the page you are proudest of. Look at the focus keyphrase sitting in the field. Then put one question to it. Where did that phrase come from?
Maybe it came out of keyword research, off a list of things customers type. Then your green lights are worth something, since the target was checked before the page got measured against it.
Or maybe you typed whatever the page seemed to be about, shortly before publishing. That happens often enough. Nobody should read it as a failing. It does mean the analysis has been grading you against your own guess ever since.
No statistic about other people’s websites settles which of those you are holding. Yours is one screen away.
WordPress SEO Work for Calgary Businesses
A screen full of green lights turns up often enough at SEO Company To-The-TOP! Usually it arrives beside a question about why the traffic has not moved. Often the pages are fine. What tends to be missing is the half the plugin was never able to supply.
Businesses across Calgary tend to get the same first hour of work here. Somebody checks what people are typing, then checks what your pages answer. To-The-TOP! has been doing search engine optimization since 2007. The portfolio shows the keywords this work has reached. No guarantees, and no fixed timeline either. Three to six months remains the plain range.
Where the answer turns out to be paid search instead, a Google Ads campaign can run this week. To-The-TOP! handles that as well. Ask how often an agency should send SEO reports before you judge Yoast for falling short. Green lights aside, how important is readability to your actual audience matters more than the plugin admits.
Common Questions About Yoast and SEO Reports
Does Yoast produce a site-wide SEO report?
Not in the sense people mean. The analysis runs per page, inside the editor. Scores do appear in a column beside your posts, though every entry there is the same single-page judgment repeated.
Can you export Yoast data?
Export options have come and gone across versions. Check the plugin you have rather than any article about it. Whatever you get out describes your own pages measured against your own keyphrases.
Why does my page score green and get no traffic?
Green means the page matches the keyphrase you entered. It says nothing about whether anybody searches that keyphrase. Those are two separate questions. The plugin only ever answered one.
What should I use for actual SEO reporting?
Search Console and Analytics, both free from Google. One tells you what people typed before arriving. The other tells you what they did afterwards. Neither one is a plugin. Nor does either read your draft.
Is Yoast still worth installing?
Yes, for what it does. It is a check on the page in front of you while you are writing it. Treat it as that rather than as a source of evidence about your rankings.
