How to Prepare for an SEO Interview

Most candidates prepare the wrong thing entirely.

They build a list. Forty questions, forty answers, memorized on the train in. Core Web Vitals. Canonical tags. The difference between a 301 and a 302 redirect. All correct. None of it useful for telling one candidate apart from the next.

    How CMS Migration Impacts SEO

Every CMS migration ends with a number. Four hundred and twelve posts in the old system. Same four hundred and twelve in the new one. Everybody signs off on that number. Then organic traffic slides for six weeks and nobody can name a cause, because the obvious checks all came back clean.

That count was never the thing worth checking.

What to Avoid When Hiring an SEO Company

Over 180,000 SEO agencies operate in North America. Most won’t move a ranking. A handful will actively hurt the site you give them access to. Knowing what to screen for going in matters as much as knowing what to look for.

These are the patterns worth watching before you sign.

What Is Rendering in SEO? The Step That Happens After You Stop Watching

You publish a page. Your own browser shows it exactly right. Six weeks later somebody points at Google and asks why half the text is missing from the result. Both of you are looking at the same URL. Only one of you is looking at the copy that counts.

Rendering in SEO is the step where Google runs your page’s code in a browser of its own. It then treats the finished result as the page. Your file was only the instruction. The render is the document.

    What Is Majestic SEO?

Somebody forwards a prospect list. One column reads TF. The next reads CF. Nothing in the email explains why there are two of them.

Majestic SEO is a British link intelligence tool. It crawls the web, then stores what it finds in an index of backlinks.

    Who Provides Telecommunications SEO Services?

Three kinds of providers, and most companies in this industry pick the wrong one first. Boutique agencies that specialize in the space. Generalist B2B agencies that pick up this kind of account alongside a dozen other industries. In-house teams inside the big carriers themselves. The right fit depends entirely on the size and shape of the business asking.

A regional ISP has different needs than a national carrier. Equipment vendors selling B2B need something else again. No single answer covers all three.

How to Leverage Community Events for Local SEO

You already know the advice. Sponsor something local. Get your business onto the event website. Take photographs. Ask the community paper for a mention. Then post about the day. All of it is sound, and this site covers local link building properly elsewhere, so none of it gets repeated here.

What almost nobody covers is who has to do the work. Not you. Every item on that list gets published by somebody else.

What Benchmark for Organic Traffic in GA4 for SEO? There Is One, and It Answers a Different Question

Someone always wants the benchmark for organic traffic in GA4. Fair thing to want. They are after a number to hold their own sessions against. A passing grade, basically.

Here is the awkward part. GA4 does hand you a benchmark now. It simply refuses to grade the thing you were asking about.

    What Does STER PPC Mean?

Someone hands you a ring. Inside the band, two stamps. STER, then PPC.

The instinct is to read that as one code. It is not one code. Those two stamps answer two different questions. Only one of them has an answer you can look up in a chart.

What to Expect From an SEO Agency

Month one is not results. Month one is setup. The audit. Access requests follow. Strategy alignment comes next. Most businesses come in expecting rankings to move within weeks. They do not. What moves in month one is the foundation. Rankings still come later.

Here is what the actual experience looks like.
